Hong Kong launched a health code system to counter the spread of COVID-19 via leavehomesafe app. Health code on the one hand limited the travel inside Hong Kong. On the other hand, the health code system facilitates quarantine-free international travel.
When you are going to Hong Kong, you have to report your health condition and vaccination records to the Hong Kong Health Declaration System. Also, you need to upload your 24 hours Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) negative result to the Health Department System before your boarding. Then the system will generate a Green Code. If your arrival via Hong Kong International Airport, the Green Code is valid for 96 hours; While your arrival via Land Control Point, the code is valid for 24 hours.
You can present your Green Code at check-in verification at the airport or land control point.
On the day of arrival at Hong Kong, you are under 3 days of Medical Surveillance. Then your Health Code will change to Amber.
The consecutively tested negative can complete medical surveillance with your Amber Code restrictions ending at 9am on Day 3.
From Day 3 to Day 7, you are under 5 days of Self-monitoring stage. And your Health Code will change to Blue. Blue code means you can visit anywhere if you are fulfilling vaccination requirements.
