Sometimes you will receive a letter from Census and Statistics Department and what attached inside is a form that require you to fill in with information about your company, including incorporation date, business nature and number of employees, etc. You may be confused with the purpose of this form and how it should be filled. What is the survey?
The survey is called “Quarterly Survey of Employment and Vacancies”, used to collect updated on persons engaged and job available in your company.
What is the use of the data?
The data is used to inform the labor department on how many employees there are in your company. If you are a director/stakeholder of the company, you are automatically considered as an employee, even when you don’t pay yourselves a salary. Labor Department checks whether it match with the records of tax department. In addition, this is useful to keep track of situation of the labor market.
Is it compulsory?
It is compulsory to fill in a survey per year or anytime there has been an update about employees within your company. It can be completed by any person using the best of his/her knowledge and belief about the company.
When should I submit the form?
Company are required to return the completed questionnaire to the department within 14 days by post/courier. You can also request an electronic form online and submit it by email. If there is any change in your company, you are welcome to fill the form again and submit another one.
